Austin Pain Associates teamed up with Polkinghorn Group Architects and IE2 Construction, Inc. to add two (2) operating rooms, expand pre-operation by five (5) beds, and expand recovery by seven (7) beds. We also enlarged the support areas to accommodate the additional surgeries.
Further complicating construction was the addition of an elevator, upsizing the air compressor and vacuum pump, relocating the medical gas manifold, installing a new chiller, and replacing the existing generator. All of these items had to be installed in phase one so that the 1st additional OR would go online at the end of phase one. These critical systems were scheduled and detailed well in advance so downtime for the surgical center was minimized. This project allows Austin Pain Associates to add over 200 surgical procedures per month to their proforma and maximize their potential as a leading pain relief surgical facility.
